Automobile First Aid KitTuesday, March 02, 2010
Between work, school, practices and vacations you probably spend a considerable amount of time on the road. What happens if you have a minor medical situation while youre in your car? Dr. Edward Hill discusses first aid kits for automobiles in todays 60 Second Housecall.
When packing a first-aid kit for the car, its a good idea to try to anticipate a wide range of emergencies. Pack an information card for each person in the car so that you know who to call in an emergency, what medications that person is taking and any other pertinent facts.
In addition to those information cards, heres a list of first-aid supplies to carry in the car:
Acetaminophen in child and adult strengths
Bandages in assorted sizes
Triple antibiotic ointment
Antihistamine cream for bug bites
Antihistamine in child and adult strengths in case of allergic reactions
Alcohol pads to clean wounds
Bandage pads for places that bandages dont fit
First-aid tape to hold bandage pads and gauze in place
Aloe vera gel for stings and burns
